Post #1) Typeface Posters
Well the first typeface poster I did was a complete disaster. No one could guess what the overall theme was and so, therefore, it was an obvious fail. My fault. As you can see I'm kind of pessimistic tonight. Plus I hate this weather. Seriously! I don't like being cold or alone. My poor roommate is sick and I'm trying to stay away from her. Poor girl. I'm totally getting off topic, but isn't that was blogging is about?
Back to typeface posters. My original design idea came from some history I found on the typeface Goudy Old Style. It was created in 1915, so I literally type 1915 in google and found some little tiny thumbnail of an introduction to a silent movie. The orientation of my poster is probably what threw it off a lot, plus it just didn't scream movie title anyways. So here it is...
Actually, never mind... I'll post it when I find the file that isn't corrupt. Grrrr..... this is why I hate blogging.
So I can probably post the 2nd poster design I did. Rusty told us to go with the same font and do it again, so I came up with just doing a more simple, trying to be elegant poster to go with the typeface. I did a little bit in Illustrator, which I don't know if I was supposed to or not but Rusty didn't say! I think it came out pretty well. I was a little proud of it so maybe that's a good sign. HEY I USED THE GRID THE WHOLE TIME SO I GET EXTRA POINTS RIGHT? Just thought I'd mention that again. The grid wasn't scary... I just have to learn how to use it for the benefit of the design. I did need to kern some more than I did though...
